Japanese Bento Box Lunch following Holistic Gourmet Bear Plate Balance-Cherry-Blossoms-viewing ‘Ohanami’ Bento in Spring

How are you doing this beautiful weekend?  Yes, Covid19 forces us to stay home safe, but we Vancouverlites are so lucky as to go out to the parks or nature with less people to keep wide social distances.

Today, I am going to the Winter Farmer’s market at Hastings Park near the PNE amusement park to support our local organic farmers/venders.  Despite Covid19, their vegetables/legumes are growing well and they need to make money to live on.  Of course, we need to eat and want to eat Local, Fresh and Seasonal, and possibly Organic produces to keep our bodies healthier.

Also, it is a good timing to enjoy the late-blooming cherry blossoms. In Vancouver, there are two kinds of cherry blossom seasons, namely

Single-flowered cherry blossoms blooming around 4/1 (3/21-4/7)

Double-flowered cherry blossoms blooming around 4/15(4/8-4/30)

Near the PNE, Callister Park is a hidden gem for the latest-blooming white-pink cherry blossoms, Shiro-fugen.  Therefore, I will bring and enjoy cherry-blossom viewing with Japanese ‘Cherry-blossom Bento box’ today after the farmers’ market shopping.

This Bento Box also follows the Holistic Gourmet Bear Plate as shown the picture with

  1. Vegetables (Sautéed onion, carrots with fresh kale with hemp seeds)
  2. Carbs (Brown rice with black sesame seeds) and
  3. Proteins (Teriyaki Tofu/Green peas tempeh)

I love to use my new chopsticks case that my craft-loving friends also made for me.

Be sure to have masks like mine that my craft-loving Japanese friend also made for me for Winter/Fall and Spring/Summer with Japanese traditional fabrics.

Since I am Japanese who loves my traditional culture, in my room, I have several Real and Authentic Japanese fabrics as shown in the following pictures.

Have a great and peaceful weekend with last-minute cherry blossoms in Vancouver!
